Great Southwest Cajun Fest: Recap

Travel Foodie Mom recently attended the Great Southwest Cajun Fest by Abita Brewing in Downtown Chandler to experience the heart and soul of New Orleans. From Cajun culture and cuisine to handcrafted beer, the Southwest Cajun Fest did not disappoint!

Speaking of cuisine, we tried the Crawfish Roll from Angry Crab Shack (and boy, was it delicious!) and Lobster Mac ‘n Cheese. However, everything looked delicious! They had frog legs, red beans & rice, jambalaya, catfish, cajun boils, whiskey bread pudding, hush puppies, and more. We even stopped for a dessert of Key Lime Pie Bars from Pinnacle Peak Pie.

There was plenty of amazing jazz, contemporary swing, and blues bands that made the evening even more lively. This kid-friendly, annual event also had festivities in themed zones such as Bourbon Street, French Quarter, Garden District and more. We are already craving the smells, food, music, and fun, and can’t wait until next year!
