“Wow!” is an understatement when it comes to Rosco’s Fish and Wings in San Tan Valley, Arizona. If you like a down home, good Southern-Fried meal, this is the place to go! Think Louisiana in Arizona.
Amazingly enough, we found this place from a Facebook ad and after checking out their Facebook page, made plans to check it out for dinner. The gator bites caught my eye. Back in Michigan, there were only two places where I found good gator bites at, and only one in Arizona (so far), so am always on the lookout.
Rosco’s has several items, however features their beer battered fish, jumbo shrimp, wings, and gator bites (and they DO have gumbo). The restaurant is located in a strip mall and just expanded to add an additional 80 seats in the dining area.
As a bonus, the customer service was friendly and helpful. I witnessed a cashier take an order over the phone, where she was asked to read the menu, prices, and descriptions, along with answer several questions, and she did so with a smile on her face!
Now, the food…
The portions are large and food is fried to perfection. Of course, I got the gator bites meal, which came with house fries, coleslaw, hush puppies, and sauce. Cameron picked out the kid’s meal fish bites with house fries. Boy, were they good! So good, that I’ve had cravings to go back again for another order of gator bites!
It’s great to see new businesses in the developing STV! I highly suggest Rosco’s Fish and Wings for a good Southern-Fried meal!
