LEGOLAND Beach Retreat: The Ultimate Kid-Friendly Florida Resort

Disclaimer: This is a sponsored post and although we received discounted rates, it is our own honest opinion.

Typically, when you think of Florida for kids, you imagine Disney or beaches, however, just an hour southwest of Orlando, your kid-friendly adventure awaits. Located in Winter Haven, LEGOLAND Florida theme park has been a growing attraction, along with LEGOLAND Hotel. Now, LEGOLAND Beach Retreat has joined that family, and we couldn’t be more excited.

LEGOLAND Beach Retreat, located on Lake Dexter, opened in April 2017 with 83 bungalows offering 166 separate rooms. Each room sleeps up to five, including a separate room for the kids with a bunk bed, trundle bed, and privacy curtain. In addition, there are no actual outlets in the kid’s area, so you don’t have to worry about fingers going in any outlets when the privacy curtain is closed.

Each cove has it’s own outdoor playground area within view of the bungalows’ shaded patio so the adults can sit and relax. In addition to the bungalows, the resort includes free Wi-Fi, complimentary transportation to LEGOLAND Florida theme park, a giant swimming pool with life jackets and large floating LEGOs, and a LEGO building station. In the main building, there is also a restaurant, bar, and gift shop.

Now that you know a little bit more about LEGOLAND Beach Retreat, here is an inside look into our stay…

The stay at LEGOLAND Beach Retreat starts off unlike any other resort before you get inside. They understand the hassle of having to get your family out of the car, only to wait in line and get back in the car during check in. That is why they have a drive-through check in. From there, you get your room keys, a map, and questions answered.

The vibrant colors of the bungalows and the cleanliness of the grounds stand out. The bungalows are spaced out in coves, so it feels very private. The room was very spacicous and could easily fit a small family. I absolutely loved how they kept kids in mind. From the complimentary juice boxes in the room, to the LEGO toy box, and the additional toilet seat for younger kids, they have you covered.

Plus, with the parent in mind, they have a full-sized bar that is actually two-sided, so you can order poolside as well.  In addition, they have a tasty on-site restaurant and one of the best complimentary hotel breakfast buffets.

We only stayed one night, yet had we known how amazing the resort was, could have easily spent the entire trip there. For the real test, my four-year-old gave it a 10/10. In fact, it was hard to get him to leave! From playing on the playground to exploring LEGOLAND Florida theme park, it’s a place where the kids go to bed early, so the parents can relax. After all, you deserve it!

  1. Your son looks like the perfect age for this. When we were at Legoland, the bungalows weren’t there yet. My boys were 8 and 9 and had just “aged out” of most things. It seems to be geared toward toddlers and young kids more than older boys who still love Legos!

    1. I 100% agree! When we went to LEGOLAND, I was expecting there to be a lot of “big kid” rides, however, it turned out that many of the rides were even too babyish for him (he just made it height-wise on the Coastersaurus rollercoaster, so we were on that a lot). I actually wish I had known, and we would have gone a year or two earlier!
