From Drab to Fab: Creating a Travel – Themed Office

I FINALLY did it! I renovated my bland office into a beautiful, travel-themed wonderland!

So, I have NO idea why my house’s paint had a yellow tint. It was awful for photographs, design, and overall feel in the room. It gave me that “cloudy day feeling” even when it was sunny outside. I spend most of my day in my office, so I wanted to love it but really didn’t know where to start, so I kept pushing it off.

The “Before” Color

That is when Tinted came to my rescue. I am, by far, not an interior designer. I know what I am good at, and I’m just not a natural at it. In fact, sometimes I send my kid to school in mismatched outfits (oops!), so picking paint colors and themes that flowed together was not for me.

With Tinted, it’s all done online through a questionnaire. You answer questions about the project, including what you had in mind, what room you are designing, and if you like certain tones and colors. Then, they do the hard work for you. One of their interior designers sends you a couple of options of main wall colors, accent wall colors, trim colors, and home decor colors. The results are emailed and you also get a package of 8×8 color chips and a design advice sheet (that is very helpful) that you can easily take to get paint.

I have to say – I was more than impressed. In fact, I was so impressed that I used the second option to start on another room and will be painting the ENTIRE house with color themes recommended.

So, what you’ve been waiting for…here is the new office! Of course, I will be adding a few DIY projects and am getting beautiful travel-themed curtains designed, but this is a good start to a happy home.

If you could do a home makeover of room in your house, which room would you choose?

  1. Wow! New paint, new interiors!

While grey may appear dull, it is also a neutral color and creates a sense of calm when you gaze upon painted walls of the color.

If I could do a home makeover of a room in my house, I would choose to re-innovate my kitchen, because that’s where I make the food and keep the fridge!
