Whether you have a sweet tooth or a taste for caffeine, Swig ‘n Sweets is the place to be. Known for their drink combinations and delicious cookies, Swig is now open in Gilbert, Arizona (Market St. between San Tan Village Pkwy and Pecos Rd., near the Gilbert Costco).
Plus, moms, get this – they have a drive-thru! I am sure, like me, there are days where you just don’t want to get out of the car – and that solves it. Seriously, there have been days when I drive an extra 4 miles to go to a Starbucks with a drive-thru, rather than walk-in only, so I know the ordeal!
Not only is this location the first in Gilbert, but it’s the first in Arizona for this Utah-based company. And, their menu doesn’t stop at pop and cookies, they offer their famous dirty sodas, smoothies, bubble tea, energy drinks, Italian sodas, frappes, chai teas, and more. The types of creations are endless!
I tried a Coconut cookie and the Caribbean Wave Sprite, which is Sprite mixed with blue coconut and mango. The cookie tasted like cookie dough and had a perfect amount of coconut taste so that it wasn’t too much. The Caribbean Wave Sprite reminded me a lot of the Ocean Water at Sonic, yet, the mango flavor (which Sonic doesn’t include) mellows it out and makes it better. Now, I usually don’t like to compare to other similar places, however, I worked at Sonic for about 4 years in high school and college, so have the tastes embedded into my taste buds. With that said, I now prefer Swig’s drinks over Sonic’s combinations.
