Every year for Christmas, Shamrock Farms in Stanford, Arizona (just south of Maricopa) holds a holiday event and tour. We attended the Christmas Holiday event at the beginning of December and absolutely loved it!
The event started with a 60-minute Farm Tour adventure on an open-air tram, where we experienced an educational journey on a real working dairy farm. You get to see over 10,000 milking cows produce the fresh milk! Stopping at the milk barn, calf nursery, play zone, and museum, it was great for kids of all ages!
When we returned to the barn, there was a tasting area to try Shamrock Farms milks, sour creams, cold brew (so good!), and eggnog (delicious!). In addition, there were activities, face painting, and games. Santa Claus and Roxie the Cow were even there!
For the event, there was also 15 tons of snow and a sledding spot, which was a fun addition to the desert temperatures!
Shamrock Farms does have farm tours throughout the year (field trips and public), which is worth the drive! They are also having an Easter event! Like the holiday event, reservations and a small fee are required. Request a date/time on the website and a reservationist will call to confirm.
