Eat to Give: Even Stevens

Travel Foodie Mom was invited to the pre-opening preview of Even Stevens in Downtown Gilbert, Arizona to experience the environment and test the food. Even Stevens was originally started in Salt Lake City and features a variety of healthy sandwiches, salads, bites, and breakfast foods. They focus on the local community, so locally-sourced items are used. Gilbert’s local products come from Peixoto Coffee, Cotton Country Jellies, Noble Bread, and SanTan Brewing.

From board games to a DJ, the pre-opening was upbeat and had a great, fun atmosphere. The staff was friendly and helpful as well. However, the one thing that stood out was their cause. When you buy a sandwich, Even Stevens donates enough ingredients for another sandwich for their non-profit partners (United Food Bank, Open Arms Care Center, Boys & Girls Clubs of the East Valley – Gilbert Branch, and A New Leaf)

I had the opportunity to try the Goat Hugger Salad, with roasted beets, spinach, arugula, pecans, goat cheese vin, and rye toast, as well as the Brava Tots, with brava aioli and smokey paprika (not fried!). All of the foods are unique and not cookie-cutter.

We had an amazing time at Even Stevens and are excited that they are now open! Eat to give at Even Stevens: 384 North Gilbert Road, Gilbert, Arizona.
