Being lactose-intolerant and not being able to eat soy-based foods has many downfalls, including not being able to enjoy cheese without popping a couple of Lactaids while eating. Not only do I have to be more aware of what is in my food, I have to test which alternatives actually taste good as well.
I was excited when Tasterie allowed me to try April’s Top 8 Tasterie Box for an honest review. This blog does include affiliate links.
Tasterie’s Top 8 Box contains foods and snacks that are Dairy Free, Egg Free, Fish & Shellfish Free, Gluten Free, Nut Free, Soy Free, and Wheat Free…needless to say, they are safe when it comes to allergies.
The box contained:
- better batter Yellow Cake Mix
- Ener-G Sesame Pretzels
- nature’s bakery Fig Bars (2)
- GoOrganic Hard Candies – Blood Orange
- Munk Pack Oatmeal Fruit Squeeze – Blueberry Acai Flax
- Wild Zora BBQ Beef Bars with Kale, Tomato, & Red Bell Pepper
My favorite was nature’s bakery Fig Bars, while my 4-year-old loved the Munk Pack Oatmeal Fruit Squeeze. He slurped that up quickly! Surprisingly, my opposite-of-a-health-freak husband enjoyed the Wild Zora BBQ Beef Bars. Who knew he would enjoy something with kale in it? I was excited that the box was great for the whole family to share!
With schools becoming more strict on what you can and cannot bring, this is a great box for school snacks to try out! They are all worth purchasing individually in the future!
In addition, since we travel frequently, the box comes in handy as snacks to pack for a road trip or airplane ride. If there is one thing I absolutely hate, it’s sitting in a confined space for hours on end after eating a snack that leaves my stomach upset. This is a worry-free way to know what is in the food that you pack and eat.
Overall, I am thoroughly impressed on the contents of the Tasterie Box, in terms of quality. You can expect to pay premium prices when it comes to allergy-free, healthy foods. If you don’t believe me, look at the cost of a gallon of milk and compare it to a gallon of almond, coconut, or goat milk! Which is why I am also surprised that the box doesn’t cost an arm and a leg! It is only $25 for a monthly box (and less if you subscribe to the 6-or 12-month plans), and you receive 6-10 high-quality hand-picked foods.
Tasterie is also opening up an allergen free marketplace in May 2017! This marketplace is going to have food that is screened to the same higher than FDA standards regarding food allergens that they use for the contents in their boxes!
Travel Foodie Mom gives the Tasterie Box a thumbs up!
