Although I do not live in Michigan anymore, I was born and raised there, and still care about my home state. From the revival of Detroit to local businesses, I try to offer my support or donations as much as possible. Recently, Travel Foodie Mom was invited to a blogger event at Le Crêpe in Royal Oak to try out the menu and check out the restaurant.
Travel Foodie Mom received complimentary food from Le Crêpe for this honest blog article.
First off, I love Royal Oak, and it is the perfect location for Le Crêpe. the ambiance fits in with Astoria Bakery and other low-key places. I can imagine eating a savory crêpe for lunch while falling even more in love with the city.
According to Le Crêpe’s website, it’s “casual gourmet euro-intimate inspired, made to order, made from scratch restaurant destination elevates your mind and piques your palate.” The offer lunch, dinner, dessert and weekend breakfast brunch and feature sweet, savory, gluten-free, vegetarian and vegan crêpes.
One of my favorite things that Le Crêpe lives by is that they care. They care about their customers, they care about their ingredients, and they care about being unique. They don’t have any microwaves, heating lamps, or holding trays – their food is made-to-order and fresh.
And now for the food!
We had the opportunity to try 3 savory crêpes and 2 sweet crêpes during the blogger event. It was made us already plan a trip back to try others since they were so delicious! Chef Dennis made us feel like we were in Paris!
Now, it’s time to start drooling! Introducing the crêpes:
marinated shrimp, red onion, sundried tomato, bacon, parmesan cheese, pesto, garlic-herb crêpe
Mushroom Madness (Savory)
wild mushroom blend, spinach, vegan mozzarella cheese, vegan truffle zip (crepe is vegan and gluten-free)
The Obvious (Savory)
pan seared chicken, raw pecans, caramelized apples, spinach, feta cheese
caramelized bananas, toasted coconut, caramel sauce, powdered sugar, whipped cream
peanut butter, chocolate sauce, marshmallow sauce, graham cracker crumbs
We were more than impressed with Le Crêpe’s unique, exquisite menu and Paris-esque atmosphere, and highly recommend it! Stop in for a crêpe, coffee, salad, soup, or dessert!
